Epson R-D1 strap lug replacement?

Hello, the stap lugs on my beloved Epson R-D1s slowly but surely ware out and its only a matter of time until the steel rings from my strap eat through the softer Brass.

Does anyone have an idea what i could do? I would love to replace them but can't find any spares. The lugs on the Bessa R2 seem a little shorter and only the right lug (if you look at the Camera from the front) is screwed in the body the same way the lugs in the R2 an other Bessa models are screwed in. The Left one is totally different...

I'm in Japan in a few weeks, maybe someone there can help me.

I've worried about mine, they are starting to show a little sign of wear too. I replaced the rings with the parachute cord type of connectors and smoothed the sharp edges created by the rings.
