I have an old R2400 printer and found a very attractive price on the Epson Styus 1400 printer.
Size of prints aside,
will the newer 1400 with presumably improved inks likely give my noticeably better prints?
Thanks,
Stephen

Maybe, if you only print color. I use R1800 for color and R2400 with QTR for b&w.

I had that printer, and the cartridge's size are small and they run out pretty fast, I
think your 2400 is a good printer, the ink's are about $18.00 dollars too for the 1400 so that's
a factor why I got rid of mine and I didn't see that much difference between that and my
Canon i9900 I have now.

Stephen: I have used Epson 2400's for about 6 years now. I look at the output of the newer models and just cannot see any difference in the output. I honestly do not think Epson has made any technological improvements since the 2400. I cannot even see what "vivid magenta" does.
When I bought my most recent 2400, the 2800 had been released. Actually, I paid just a little more for that 2400 than I would have paid for a 2800. But I had 2400 inks and knew how it worked.
I have never owned or used a 1400. I imagine the color is fine. But I know they lack the LLK, LK & K combination and the ABW print driver. Everyone says they do not do b&w anywhere near the level of the 2400.

I second this. Great B&W

I also have used Epson R2400 and found that it works in a good manner.

I get really good BW prints from my 2400. The only complaint is the cost of inks. Over $100.00 for a full set.
