I have been experimenting trying to print stuff in Photoshop but am not getting good results with it, the colours are all dark and muddy. As a final attempt I tried the 'Epson easy photo print' and got a really great result. The only problem is that I do not know what the program chose in order to reach that point because I chose the automated mode. Is there a simple way to address this issue?

Be assure the 2400/ 2800 / 3800 series makes great b&w and color prints.
The most common problem seems to be double profiling when someone does not check the box "let photoshop manage colors" and "off - no color adjustment" in the printer settings dialog box.

Hi Bob, thanks for the info. The problem turned out to be that I had the Printer Profile as ProPhoto RGB (because I thought that the profile had to match th colour space which was used) when I changed this to SPR2880 Epson Premium Glossy it seemed to have done the trick.
