Hi,
After years of satisfactory scanning with my Epson V800, I’ve recently encountered banding with a noticeable staircase effect. I was scanning 6x9 120mm HP5 film using the latest version of VueScan in RAW mode. The negative appears to be either underdeveloped or underexposed.
The scanner is clean, so it’s not an issue with dust in the calibration area.
Is there any way to avoid this horrible effect?
After searching online for a solution, I found this article: Scanner Banding — Sebastian Schlueter, but I’m not sure if it’s worthwhile.

Thanks,
Jan
