Err99 on Canon 40D-Suggestions?

My camera failed last night-the dreaded err99.

Should I get it fixed (approx $200) or spend that money on a newer model Canon?

Too much invested in glass to switch systems.

I got the quote-it's $225-the minimum-and that's just to open it up. I can get a new
60D for $865.....
But what I really want is a 7d...no, a 5D Mk III but I wouldn't use either enough.

I hate these kind of decisions.....

I sent it to Canon-Irvine. Thinking I'll save the money and apply it towards a 60d or a 7d.
