Mike Johnston over on TOP this morning talks to Peter Turnley about an upcoming exhibition of his bw silver gelatine prints at Leica Gallery Salzburg, from November 20.
Turnley has 4x5" internegatives made at Central Dupon Images in Paris, which are then printed by Voja Mitrovic, who Mike and Peter agree is one of the best bw printers in the business. My guess is that most of the prints would be of Paris, as that is where Turnley is based and also his favourite shooting location.
Internegatives allow consistent print output across film or digital capture. This exhibition would be a good opportunity to see, and compare, prints made from Leica film and digital cameras using the same lenses.
