External finders and parallax

since most external finders don't correct for close composing of an image, what area in the finder should I be concerned with...lower left. I ask this because I noticed the images I took with my Kiev 4am and J-12 were shitfed a bit more from my framing as I remember them being.

Thanks,
Todd

O.K., the images were not "shitfed"....they were shifted! 😀

With the brightline finders I have for my Bessa-T (both the 50 and the 25), the brightlines have a close focussing dashed line near the top frame line only. The bottom line does not. I guess this is a sign that parallax affects the top of the frame more than the bottom, and this also accounts for the effect that when you focus close, the field of view becomes somewhat smaller due to extension of the lens.

That's one of the funniest "slips of the tongue", I've ever heard. 😀

But, I just don't want to think about what was the reason of its genesis..., that one could be
"delicious" for someone who enjoy in some Freudian analysis, I mean soembody like that guy from
the sitcom - Frazer 😉 🙂 😀

I think Daniel is right. I have just bought from Stephen G. de metal 28 brightline High Point VF for my Bessa R. He writes on his website: Like most wide angle finders, it has no manual parallax compensation -- but it does have parallax compensation marks in the finder. The lower dotted brightlines indicate the approximate view at about 3 feet. The upper solid brightlines indicate the approximate view at infinity.
