Have anyone here compared the properties of these two lenses?
I have the canon and like its handling. It also seems quite sharp (nothing scientifical here). The minimal foocus distance is too long for my taste though.
Thanks

I just got the Canon 35mm/1.5, so I cannot give my detailed opinion yet. I have used it before, and I liked it.

Hopefully, I'm not breaking the warning of "This is NOT the place to discuss a specific lens or lens line, do that in the appropriate forum", but I would get a superb 35/2 Canon and use super-fast film to get the same results. The 35/1.5 Canon is pretty rare and expensive.

Bill,
It is not much more expensive than a clean 35/2.

Try to find one of the same price. The 35/1.5 is much rarer.
