I was given an old, slow laptop computer just before Christmas and while I was looking for some free ware programs to use on it, I came across this:

site and decided to try the image viewer program.
I have been using it for a few days and it seems to answer most(as in 99%) of my image editing needs very well. I can do the minimal things I need to do(resize, crop, basic contrast/saturation adjustments) and it generates thumbnails of my photo folders very easily.
I have been using the GIMP for all this stuff(on this computer that I'm using now) and first thought I'd just download that to use on the laptop but I have to be very strict about how much stuff I load onto it since it has very little drive space(I am going to get an external drive but not for a while yet).
This program falls in between "Easy Share" and the GIMP(and certainly not anywhere as much detailed control as Photoshop). I'm very happy with it!
Just thought I'd pass it along to any one who's interested.

I too just discovered it a few days ago myself after being frustrated with windows screwing up my thumbnails all the time. So far it does seem really good!

I use FastStone imageviewer next to Photoshop. It's great for the basic editing work. You should also try MaxView from Faststone. That's a great, little and fast viewer and complements ImageViewer wonderfully well. I set it up as my default imageviewer and via a quick "E" key tap it opens ImageViewer to do some basic editing.
