Yesterday, after removing my FED 3.5/50 lens from my Fed 2 and replacing it, I heard a rattle inside the camera. I removed the lens to find that the black metal baffle had come away from the lens barrell. I have replaced it inside the lens and so far it hasn't become detached again but I am wondering whether evrything is Ok with the lens now and, if not, what I should do. Does anyone know?

If it doesn't fall out and you don't see vignetting in your exposures then all is fine. It's just a baffle, held in place by friction. It doesn't have an active role in the lens- the lens will function without it. But its loss can be reason for flares caused by internal reflections.
