For Ferrania users, P30 is back. Limited stock (3,500 rolls) available right now, full production begins in the fall. I really like the QR sticker that is affixed to each roll, and is specific to that roll. More here:

I wonder how long it will be before the Ferrania haters highjack this thread?

Thanks, Jim. It's good to see signs that Film Ferrania is gradually becoming a solid manufacturer of film.

On their "About" page, it still shows the intention to develop and manufacture color as well as B&W. I'm still hoping, without urgency, that they will eventually bring out a color slide film, in both 35mm and 120. (220 would also be nice!) As long as we have Fuji Provia and Kodak Ektachrome, I'm okay. But it would be good to have another color slide film for variety and in reserve.

Are the 3,500 rolls the ones available through their partners right now or will they be released this month?

Also I wasn’t aware people were hating on P30 haha, what’s their exact issue?

A lot of people felt misled by the initial marketing and Kickstarter campaign promising colour films (reversal and negative) that Ferrania has never managed to be able to manufacture. I disliked P30 because the initial batches did not have anything approaching a normal exposure-density curve, making it between hard and impossible to wet print. I wish them well, but I have low expectations.

I'd be all in for another color transparency film. In 120, Ektachrome has been the only show in town for months, and I'm worried that the situation may become permanent.

I just checked my favorite supplier in Seattle. Though they list Fuji Velvia 50 and Provia in 120, they are both out of stock in single rolls. They do have 120 5-packs of Fuji Velvia 50, however, and they have Ektachrome singles, as you noted. I hope this lack of stock is temporary, though we can't count on that.

Fortunately, I have a good supply of slide film in the freezer, though I'm tempted to grab a couple of 5-packs of Velvia 50.

I don't think there are Ferrania haters, but rather disappointed Ferrania Kickstarter supporters. One will assume that they were actually very positive towards Ferrania when they supported the project.

I'm still very positive about Ferrania, even though I'm massively disappointed that I never received my kickstarter rewards; it's been so long now that I can't even remember how much I chipped in for at the time.

I'm not losing sleep over it, though. It was always going to be an uphill battle, but I don't think anyone expected the problems they ended up facing. If my "donation", as small as it was, does its bit to keep film production alive in the coming years, it'll have been worth it. If nothing comes of it, it's not like I've lost a great deal.

Thanks for that heads-up! But I thought all Velvia films were discontinued in the US for environmental/health reasons. Perhaps this is old stock?

Fujifilm is no longer importing it into the US for those purported environmental reasons but you can still buy it on Amazon-Japan and ship it to the US.

The question was if Velvia 50 wasn't discontinued in the US. I have only heard it was Velvia 100.
Shipping Velvia 100 to the US may involve the risk of confiscation.

Velvia 50 was NOT discontinued in the US. Just unavailable. The alleged environmental issues were with the Velvia 100.
At B&H, the 50 is listed as 'back ordered'. The 100 is no longer listed.

The clarification is much appreciated. However, it seems a moot point unless and until it becomes available for sale here in the US. I suppose this is attributable to "supply chain issues", which seems to have become a blanket reason, or perhaps excuse, for so many problems. Whatever happened to calling a problem an "act of God"? At least then you had Somebody to blame! Now, back to our hijacked P30 thread...

I've read two or three reviews and all of them have a similar theme....contrast, contrast, contrast. But a very nice look for some circumstances.

I'll probably purchase a few rolls as I am in SoCal , fairly close to the Darkroom (they have experience developing P30) and see what happens. Not sure this film is particularly good when paired with modern lenses.

P30 in the dr5 direct positive process was exquisite, looking much like the original Scala in Agfa's process. Sadly, dr5 is gone, but anyone who does their own direct positive processing (all three of us, scattered across the globe) should give it a try with P30.
