Film advance lever on Rollei 35RF rough

Recently got a new Rollei 35RF. Compared to my older (1 year old) Bessa-R, the film advance lever on the Rollei is much rougher during operation. I was very surprised to notice that the action on the Bessa was so much smoother. Has anyone else noticed this striking difference? Will the Rollei get smoother with use?

The Rollei 35RF is really a beefed up Bessa-R2, which I think is supposed to be an improvement over the Bessa-R, hence my question above.
