My recently acquired post-war IIIc, just back from medical attention, is behaving strangely. The first roll I exposed in it did not go beyond frame 31, and the second did not go beyond frame 33. That's 5+ and 3+ frames wasted. I recall that when I had end-of-roll problems with one of my manual Canon reflexes, my repair chap solved them with a tiny drop of oil at, of all places, the rewind shaft.

Before doing an oil change, I'd suggest running another couple of rolls through it. It went from 31 to 33 frames; so perhaps a couple of more will get it up to 36/37?

If it just came back from repair, contact the repair person and let them know. If the visit was for a general CLA, this obviously shouldn't be happening.

Frank, several things have so pissed me off that I have no wish to have anything more to do with the man to whom I sent the camera. He has a fine reputation, but I think he's now too old to do things himself and gets his more ham-handed baboons to do the work. I like your line of reasoning, George. After a dozen or so rolls I should get, what, 92 exposures out of each 135-36?
