Film Processing on Ebay any one used it?

I have not used this service, but I would look carefully at shipping costs and delivery times.

Interesting, the ebay feedback starts showing film processing in August 2012 (6 most recent of the 19 pages of feedback, all 100% positive). Before that they sold power equipment. But the ebay ad also says they have been operating a modern color lab since 1995. I couldn't find this lab online except for the ebay listing. A mapquest aerial view of the address shows a house in a residential neighborhood.

With free return shipping, the cost is less than doing it yourself.

All those ex-drugstore process machines don't have to go to landfills. My guess is they must have picked up one, two, maybe more. Hell, I thought about it! Servicing the beasts would be the challenge.

This is a 3 bedroom, 2.0 bathroom, single family home. It is located at 1010 Sassafras St Willow Springs, Missouri.

Sounds like they are running Noritsu:

"The 2611 is really an analogue printer with a very basic digital add on, that cannot be easily integrated into anything else."

As I look at this I think just the cost of supplies would more that price
1. When I send film color film out I always try using local first. If some happens they are locate to find.
2. If I can use local then say in the same state again closer to find if some thing goes wrong
I have found most change per roll at good lab $8.00 to $10.00 for scan work I do know others are out there that will do it cheaper you could pay the price for cost savings

Hello,

I know I'm super late to this thread but I've used this Ebay seller's service.

I don't really know if he's profitable with this service, but I can personally say that the service is great. I've processed 22 rolls with him at this point (first order was the 10-roll develop only service which I scanned myself with my Epson V500, and the second order was two orders of the 6 roll develop + scan service.

The scans are decent, although they are a somewhat low-ish resolution at 1544 x 1024 pixels.

I've emailed him to ask him if he can scan at a higher resolution and he was super honest in saying that he wasn't completely familiar with the hardware yet to be able to scan at a higher resolution (this exchange took place in December of 2013), but that he's pretty certain the equipment can scan at high resolutions and was researching how to do it.

I can also say that he is incredibly responsive in his communication. The way he writes makes him sound like a geek (I mean that in the best way possible) that has a real love for this stuff, just like me.

I'm incredibly happy with this service. With that said, it does seem like a one-man operation, and there certainly is a risk if something were to go wrong or if he were to somehow get knocked out of commission or something. But, he's got a good track record and I'm happy with everything he's done for me so far.

Right now the option that I really like is the 6 roll develop + scan for something like 17 bucks, which I plan on using when I get back from a short trip at the end of this week.

Here is a link to a sample of a full resolution scan from the last batch I got back in December 2013. It was shot with Fuji Super HQ 100 which I found at a garage sale, loaded into a Fujifilm Klasse S.

I tried this service, and the shipping took a while. I sent them a message and they were awesome. However, once I received my negatives most of them were scratched. Random scratches from several different cameras.

I would not recommend this service.

Maybe I am spoiled from developing my own film, scratch free.

All my negs were fine, no scratches. And my stuff was shipped quickly; he had my stuff in house no more than 2 days before it was processed and shipped back to me, and he ships priority, so getting to me in CA only took a couple of days.

Yep. I worked for an one hour lab and then a camera store with its own lab. Both had equipment that was old back then. I spent many hours with my hands inside the machines and a phone cradled on the shoulder talking to a tech. Happy days. :D

It's probably a front run at a loss by the NSA and Homeland Security to get info on who people are contacting. They add your name, email address, home shipping address, etc and the images to their files. All for your personal safety, of course.
