film question

I assume you mean the "imported" version of brand name film, such as Kodak? You will not have any problem with it. In fact, it may not be imported at all, rather it may have foreign text printed on the box, as it is intended for "foreign" markets. Its the exact same film inside. If it is fresh and not out-of-date it should give you identical results. From a vendor such as B&H, you can order with confidence.

No worries. I've been joyfully chewing through a bulk roll of USAW 400TX. The "KODAK" banner in the sprocket areas might say "K'ODAK." Supposedly the placement of the apostrophy is a designation of the film's origin or destination.

That's the only difference, as far as I can see.

regarding imported film

perhaps you are talking about "gray market" film. I buy it all the time at Samy's in Los Angeles, and have never had any trouble with it. There are not supposed to be any differences, but I have one story . . a real short story.

I bought some really cheap (low cost) color negative film from B&H Photo a few years ago. It was "Gray market", and when I got my first set of rolls back from the developers, the stuff looked like it was expired (very expired). Of course the cannisters and the box did not show it as being expired, but it looked terrible. Since then, I have not bought any gray market film from New York or from any mailorder store. But I do buy it when I want to from local stores, and have had no trouble with it.

Bottom line: it should be just as good. And it costs a whole pile less.
