Don't follow new films much. I have been playing around with Ektar 100 and a 35f1.2. I really like the rendering.

I thought I read somewhere that Kodak introduced a version in ISO 400. If I want something a bit faster then ISO 100 what is out there that has a similar palette?

I am heading off next month for 60 days on a motorcycle in Alaska from the Mexican border. I was looking at a digital (S90/Lumix/G11 etc) but have decided to take the M4.

Thanks.

Sorry, can't help with your film question, but want to wish you good luck on your trip, and props for selecting film! Will you be able to post updates to RFF along the way?

M4 sounds good. Surf the net for places to pick up additional film. I am certain that in LA & SF & Seatle there will be sufficient locations with developing facilities.

Unfortunately, there is no Ektar 400. I used to shoot 400UC (Kodak Ultra Color 400) quite a bit before it was discontinued. I've heard a lot of good things about Kodak Portra 400VC, but have not had a chance to try it yet.
