Leica LTM Filters for Canon Lenses

Perhaps it's old news here, but I'll mention this workaround for finding 40mm filters for the Canon 50mm/f2 lenses.

An ebay vendor called "Heavyside" offers a 40mm to 40.5 mm step up ring at quite a reasonable price and shipping - the 40.5 mm filters are common and easily obtained. I'm using a couple of these - they seem well made with no thread mating problems. The only downside that I can see is additional (ca. 5mm) thickness of the adaptor on the end of the lens.

I have bought some 40 to 40.5 step up rings from Heavystar, and they work quite well. Cheap, too.

Is there any vignetting? esp. 50/1.5?

I haven't noticed any vignetting on the 50/1.5 or 50/1.8, but there is some vignetting on the 35/1.8 and 35/2, but only wide open. Not extreme, but noticeable darkening of the corners. YMMV
