"Fine" print

Well, I've got my monitor settings to LARGEST text size, have my glasses on and I still have to squint to read this tiny print. The photos in the threads are so small I have no reason to "click on" them to see each one, because I can't tell what they are.
I know Jorge worked hard to "re-do" the forum, but I just can't keep getting a headache trying to read it.
I love this group, but if it's got to stay like this, I'm out.

It might be possible to enlarge the font size within your browser... try playing with the 'preferences' and the 'font size' options.

NWCANONMAN - please dont' go,

What web browser are you using ? - if you are using Internet Explorer - try going : Up in the menu (two buttons right of the "file" button --> View --> Text size --> and setting it to the largest size maybe. Then restart you web browser.

Hope it helps,

Cheers,

Meakin

H* which screen resolution are you using ? The font size thing is a good advice, if using Firefox simply press Ctrl+ / Ctrl - for bigger / smaller fonts. I'm seeing that Firefox has some more font size settings than IE, on the later the biggest font size may still be small.

Yea use Firefox - no comparison with IE. Agree that the site is difficult to read though... I believe Jorge is bringing the colors from the "old" site here when he has time. 🙂

i share the frustration h*!

this print is tiny and nothing i do changes the size.
sorry i don't want to change my browser.

the site is new, confusing and the print is tiny. it's like a conspiracy to keep me away.
but i will persevere, for i am the moderator and eventually something will happen here that i will need to moderate. lol

I'm sorry, guys, but I haven't changed anything about my browser and the size of the print seems to be the same size as on the "old" RFF. I really don't see the problems that you report, and I don't know what is wrong. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think so Joe. 🙂 Jorge has the best will in the world and I don't think any of us underestimate the effort required to migrate what is becoming a very big forum to a new environment.

I'm sure he hears what we are all saying but he must have a priority list as long as your arm. He needs to get the main functions stable and then he can look after everyones little pet peeves.

Same here.

you don't see a difference in the size of the letters in a post?
really?
it's much smaller now than before and nothing i do seems to help change that.
hhmmmm...

joe

oh and peter, i agree that it seems unlikely that i will have to intervene between members here. we are just so nice...

Guys, I use IE and as stated, have it set to LARGEST font. Don't want another browser, IE works fine for everything BUT this forum.
Being not able read the post or see the photos is more than a "peeve" for me, so I'll stay away until Jorge has time to work on it. Take care ya'll
~ ; - )

I 've just tried changing the text size in IE. explorer and Firefox - for some reason there seems to be no difference when changing the size in explorer on RFF but there is a difference on other pages - however, Firefox has no problems with changing text size at all.

Maybe it has something to do with the way the various Browser's interprets the coding ?

"Make text larger" and "make text smaller" commands work just fine in Safari. Actually, the text looks normal as is. Why am I not surprised that IE is breaking whatever standard CSS command is being used to display the text.

Sorry you feel this way, H*.

Take care, and I hope we'll see you back soon.

H* anyway hope to see you back soon ! Maybe the text is put on the screen in a way which makes IE impossible to enlarge it ? 😕

I checked and, indeed, the resizing of the font does not work for RFF using IE.

For me the size is large enough but I'm not everyone else, am I? 🙂

I have a pretty large font with IE 6 and Firefox 1 on my 15" 1600x1200 Notebook screen. Capital letters are roughly 1/2 cm.

No special settings except 120DPI for the whole display in Windows XP screen settings

I willl check back here, hopeing it will get better.
If you check the "font" size in the Reply mode here, you'll see that the default setting is "ONE" - the smallest available! There's no reason that can't be changed.

This font is the same size in my configurations of both Firefox and IE. It is actually now quite readable. I think perhaps yesterday it was smaller but I'm losing track I guess...
