I recently acquired a 1987 black Jupiter 12 to use on my Leica IIIf RD, and took my first serious photos with the combination this past weekend. I was impressed with the results. Most were taken at 1/500 at f/11 on Fuji Superia 200.

very nice photos, that lens is certainly a keeper.
a good J- 12 is always a winner in the" cost : preformance" ratio equation.

Ditto for me. Sure wish I had been there too. You have a winner.

Backalley Joe, this one is for you and our other friends in Canada. The most modern military aircraft at this weekend's show in Tennessee were two CF-18 jet fighters from Canada. The one I photographed below was parked next to another whose pilot was allowing the public to climb a set of steps up to cockpit level and see the aircraft up close and personal. He had a crowd in line, adults and young folks alike.
The paint job was a subdued military grey, except for the Maple Leaf on the tail, so it is not as colorful as the others I have shown.
I can testify that these aircraft did a great job of converting jet fuel into noise, low, right over my house. They were great envoys from the North.

How did they get our whole Air Force to turn up?

Bob, I'm not sure how the arrangements were made this time. Previously, when one showed up here, it was flown by a Canadian Air Force officer who had done graduate work at the nearby University of Tennessee Space Institute. They offer advanced degrees in aeronautics as well as studies applicable to a career as a test pilot. I suspect the same connection was used this time.
