These are some scans from the first roll through my newly acquired XA.

The film is Kodak BW400CN scanned with a Scan Dual IV.

There was a horrendous amount of dust on these. I am going to have to lean how to clean the negs and re-scan them.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As for the dust, check if the dust is (physically) on the negative or got there before development of the film. The same thing happened to me with the first roll in a newly acquired used camera.

I also tested the BW400CN once but really disliked the character of its grain. I much prefer Ilford's XP2, which is also much more tolerant to over/underexposure.

Otherwise congrats on getting a XA, I own one too and carry it everywhere. It tends to overexpose a bit, and 2.8 there is a visible luminous area in the center of the image, but sometimes this makes the photo even better.
