first roll

hey i just came from looking at them.
i really like the first one, like a true snapshot into a picture window. very well done. i love the 2 people looking directly at you.

Lookin' good, Biber! Nice shots!

Are you enjoying the M4? Looks to me like you're having fun!

Gene

Thanks. :)

Gene: I'm having lots of fun with it. Never enjoyed shooting people this much with any other camera, and I really liked it with my slr. :)

Joe: I'm considering the first one for the book, but I'll need one more shot like it first or I'll have to go for the backup plan instead.

Did we need model releases btw?

biber, i think that's a good choice.
i'm not too sure about the model release. i would think that if a scene is visible from the street that the expectation of privacy would be nil.

I like them both but the first one is really outstanding. As a matter of fact I find it quite fascinating. I don't know if its the Leica though, as the earlier shots on your website are also terrific.
You have a great eye, Jonas, and deserve a Leica. As Richard would say, jattefint!

Great shot! There's a lot happening in the frame and it causes me to examine it carefully. There are many stories there, untold and left to the viewer's imagination. It's involving, and draws you in.

Very nice indeed Biber ! I really like the mood in the bar shot and as others said, its one of those pictures which offer multiple lectures. I also love the composition on the second one.

We want more ! :D

i wonder how this whole legal/model thing will work for the book?
would it be the law of the country the pic was taken in, or the law of where the book is published or sold?

where's matlock when you need him?

joe

peter_n: It's a bar at the central station in Helsingborg. Shot that one just a few meters from the pic with the stairs.

You know I spent a lot of time flipping between the two pictures wondering if those stairs in the upper right in the bar shot were the same ones - and I decided they weren't... :)

Joe, even with a model release one is not entirely safe from being sued. I don't even know if here in Holland one would need a release, or whether it's worth the paper it's written on.

Biber, that bar shot is very nice, and you did well on development!

The second shot has much potential. It's just that the top left part is too empty. I miss some balance. I reckon if you go back there a few more times (at differnt moments of the day) you'll come up with a wonderful shot. Early morning rush hour could give you shots with many people, fresh awake. Lunch time shots: people on a break and relaxing a bit. Late at night: cuddling couples, drunks and bums, few people but hurrying home or to the bar.
