First roll

Hi guys and girls (if any),

Here are a couple of shots from my first roll from my first Leica. It's an old roll of film, so I think it has been not so forgiving in terms of latitude. Also I'm quite green on the Imacon scanner at school. I'm just saying: I know they look hard and I'm sorry for the dust spots. After all they are just test shots. What I gather is that the camera works 🙂 and that's a good thing, right? Maybe I should start putting in some fresh rolls of something nice.

Comments are more than welcome. I never really did street photography before and never did RF'ers.

I think your shots look great. What kind of film did yoy use? Are you using a filter?

Thanks. It's an Ilford XP2 expiration date sometime in 2005. No filters.

lance, i'd say that's quite an impressive start. this makes me feel good about the decision to get the 50/2 summicron. my first negatives will be ready for pick up tomorrow, and there are some rolls of ilford waiting in the fridge. 😀

I'm studying to become a photojournalist so we have the appropriate equipment for developing C-41 and scanning. The Imacon is sloooow though and I'm pretty sure it will not be upgraded. Film is not that widespread any more.

Until I learn to scan well, it does not matter what scanner it is. 😱 Well, it's OK I guess.

the tone on the last shot is nice. My first M body is coming today, but my first M lens not til later this week! I just got my dev equipment, so I will have fun pushing trix@2000, 2400, 3200 this weekend. Anyway, nice work, especially the last.

That is tough, Kip. One will not do anything without the other. Good thing it's coming soon then.

I think it's great you are developing black and white yourself. The real deal is just better. My equipment is long gone and I am too lazy now I have instant C-41 access.
