Tetenal Superfix Plus looks to be a very nice option. Anyone used it? Its half the price of Ilford Rapid fix here..

There are more rapid fixers for less then half price then from Ilford. Just take what you can find for any good price. In Acid type fixers there is not many difference when diluting to 1+4. Btw. Ilford rapid fixer in Europe has been also made by Tetenal in Norderstedt Germany.

The best deal is 5l AGFA liquid concentrate from MACO, but the transport is expensive.

Yes, any liquid concentrate is about 1,5kg/liter. You can use Calbe /Adox powder fixer or from Foma (Fomafix) but it is not a rapid fixer. Or make it yourself if you have acces to a local chemical company.

Great thanks. Interesting to learn that Ilford fixer is actually made by Tetenal!

Ilford fixer is already very cheap! I dilute 100ml to 500ml (1:4) and fix up to 14-16 rolls. Thus, a whole 1L bottle can fix at least 140-160 rolls. I use stop bath before fixing.

Ilford chemicals were made by Champion and by themselves but after Ilford went in bankruptcy around 2005 and re started by a management buy out and continued by Harman/Ilford it is made by Tetenal who are also making the chemicals for Kodak in Europe and after 2008 when Amaloco, the Netherlands stopped, is also producing for the Amaloco brand ( and their new owner Nordfoto). In fact Tetenal is making now the R09/Rodinal (instead from CCP&S) and producing bulk for Compard, Adox, maybe Moersch Fotochemie which has all to do with REACH, the new rules for safety and production of chemicals according EU rules and laws.
