Hi,
I just received the Zhongyi Lens Turbo AI-Nex adapter from China. I purchased it on eBay for $142. It is a Nikon to E-adapter with a lens for focal reduction. You gain 1 f-stop and full-frame Nikon lenses have the same equiv. focal length on the Nex series. Here is a photo with this adapter and the Nikon 50mm 1:1.4D lens:

I also took some pictures with this combo to show what f1 looks like and these are in the same gallery collection.

I plan to take a few more outside, and also to try my Samyang 14mm lens, and perhaps a Nikon tilt-shift lens.

I found the lack of automation no problem at all. AE works fine in A-mode. Focus using focus peaking takes a fraction of a sec, even more convenient and faster than a rangefinder. At last we have easy waist level shooting that mostly went away with TLR cameras. The weight is fine, but I'm not sure about mounting some of my heavy zooms to the Nex-7 without a tripod.

May I ask you a question: does this adaptor influence the presence of so-called "color shift" for wide angle lens on NEX-7? Does it eliminate or reduce it?
What are your impressions overall for sharpness, distortions, etc. with this adapter.
Thank you.

I plan to test this with my 14mm Samyang lens in the next few days and will post the result. I don't expect color shift. With the 50mm lens I did not notice a loss of resolution wide open. Actually I'm traveling to Hawaii today, and this gives a chance to test this converter for travel. I am carrying both Nex-7 and D800E and will be able to use the full frame Nikon mount lenses interchangeably on my Nex. Hopefully I will demonstrate that I now need to carry fewer lenses and thus a slightly lighter load-- only slightly lighter because the Nex lenses no longer needed were relatively smaller than the full frame lenses. Its great that the full frame lenses retain their normal focal length on the APS-C Nex.

I also thought about carrying a film camera to Hawaii which works well because Honolulu has excellent E6 same day processing services (2). Logically I should have brought along the Nikon N80 which is light and would also share all the Nikon mount lenses with D800 and Nex.

Okay I made two pictures on Nex-7 and Samyang 14mm f2.8 plus Lens Turbo adapter. One was at f2.8 (equiv to f2) the second was at f8 (equiv to f8). There is not much difference between these two that I can see other than I aimed the camera a bit differently. The third picture is a LR5 processed version of the f8. I corrected the barrel distortion a bit and added contrast. http://www.flickr.com/photos/douglasboyd/sets/72157635072117061

By the way, these are the full-size images from the Nex-7 which you can see if you select the "All Sizes" option. I took this out the window of the Delta Sky Lounge at LAX while reading this thread. So they are just test shots. It was about 5PM with overcast sky. I must say that the Nex-7 looks like an impressive kit with the Samyang 14mm lens in front, but still fairly light weight. The focus was set on the large 54A sign.

Thank you for posting these.
First one (Post processed in LR5) seems unbeleavably sharp to me. Super sharp, but of course still a lot of distortions. I guess it's to be expected from such wide lens. But I dont see color shift at all. Would I see it if you just put the very same lens on NEX 7 without adapter?
