The good news: You can snag the budget-friendly aluminum version for a mere $400, it delivers that replica classic vintage antique green/blue color casts. Works like a charm on both digital sensors and good ol’ film.
The bad news: The metal barrel and mount in one piece, all aluminum, no plastic nonsense. Swap it on and off too many times and the mount wears out faster than your patience on a bad shoot day. Also, that fancy SUMMILUX name ring replacement? Yeah, still MIA.
And if Brian ever peeks at the focusing cam—raw, shiny brass with zero black paint to stop internal reflections—he’s gonna leap out of his chair like it’s on fire and scream, “WHO DESIGNED THIS?!” 😄 😄 😄
