Hello,

I have purchased a bulk of Fomapan 100 film (17 m, emulsion number 019515-06, expired 2018-04). After developing the film, there are some dark spots of unknown origin in the negative (white in the positive image). As if there were stars in an astronomical picture. What is your opinion?

A few years ago I had problems with what sounds like the same thing with Fomapan 200 in 120, the consensus of opinion is that they had problems with their backing paper . I have used a lot of foma 100 in most formats including 35mm without any problems . At the time of my problems with the 200 I think that I read somewhere that stop bath can cause pinholes etc , I just use water as stop now . I love Fomapan films but do recognise that their quality control can be a bit lacking.

I've had this problem on just a few occasions. I put it down to quality control at the time, but I can't be sure about that. I switched to using demineralised water and it didn't happen thereafter, but that may have been coincidence.
