Well, correct me if I'm wrong. I have a 2,8/50 Elmar and it sure does not look like this! Is this a later version or? What's with the "E39" and "Leica" engravings, kind of cheapo to me if it's for real...
 
I have a vintage Elmar f2.8. I think this is just how the current version looks. The colour is off on the red dot.
 
I have dealt with this seller. Quite serious I guess. Isn't theis some kind of re-issue of the 50's collapsible Elmar?
 
It looks like the current version of the Elmar. Maybe some automatic adjustment in Photoshop or artifical lighting made the red seem orange on the shots.

yes it is...ok, I'm not updated obviously! I think it looks like a FSU model of it! But why Leica and not Leitz? I don't get it...
 
Back in the '90s, the Leitz family sold their stock interest to the Leica company. (I think) The name on the cameras and lenses changed from Leitz to Leica. This happened during the M6 camera model, so some are named Leitz, some Leica. The production facility in Germany also changed from Wetzlar to Solms at this time.

Leitz sold the camera division off a while ago. The camera company is now called Leica; the new gear is all engraved with the Leica name; Leitz is no longer selling camera gear.
