Capture the Wild Photography Contest 2005

...

CPAWS invites photographers of all ages to capture the beauty of Alberta, and the world of nature beyond our provincial borders.

...

The 2005 deadline is:

September 9, 2005

I can't seem to find what the prizes are (LOL), but the previous year's winners are posted and are truly inspiring.

Hey Joe - don't you think a Canon P would do a fine job here?

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

I think Joe should wait until 2006 to win this contest. That will give him time to get out when it is -40c this winter and really earn it by capturing the beauty of the deep freeze.

Thanks for the link, Bill. I looked, and couldn't find the exact prizes, either... but on their sponsors page, it lists four contest prize sponsors: two outdoor outfitters, a camera shop, and a custom framing shop. I sent an email for more details; I'll let you all know what I find out.

For anyone interested in this contest:

Overall Grand Prize: Digital camera worth approx CAD$1000, framed enlargement of your winning photograph, and two tickets to attend The Wild Gala, which is the big fundraising event tied to the contest.

First & Second Prize (for each category): Gift certificate for Elements: The Patagonia Store, one ticket to The Wild Gala, and a framed enlargement of your winning photograph.
