I've been away from serious photography for quite some time and any photos I've shot over the last few years have been with the camera on my phone. Well, I was digging around the closet tonight and found an old friend, my Fuji Natura S Black. I've taken this camera a lot of places and captured some great memories.
Found a spare CR2 battery and a roll of TMax 400 (expired, but what the heck). I think it's time my old friend and I went for a walk together.

Bravo...You know I haven't shot a roll of film all year. I'm not even sure my chemicals are still good. Expired film is my middle name. I think I will join you.
Enjoy yourself.

Shooter of Film...
I too have gone back to a couple of old friends...I needed to tune up the Olympus but only had to dust off the Nikon...the Weston meter was serviced by Quality Light Metric a few years ago so its good to go.
Both are loaded with home-rolled Legacy Pro 100...test rolls looking good so far...

You guys are having too much fun!
I will do the same, shooting film with my old Nikon FM2n. Or my F80. Or, the old .... hmmmm. Deciding will be half the fun!

Christmas is for reuniting with old friends Doug. With COVID restrictions this is as safe a reunion as you can have - enjoy the company!

Taken with the Olympus many years ago at the Los Angeles Auto Show when Porsche spent good money on their display...

Very cool, that's got to be a very rare (semi-)ultra wide angle compact, no?

Yes, I'm still having fun. I do somewhat regret my years of working and raising children which set back my photography for about 25 years. I didn't quit but it slowed me down (well, I didn't grow at that time as a photographer). At least I did my job with my kids and my work during that period. So, as Edith Piaf said, 'No Regrets.'

Yes to both rare and ultra-wide, since Fuji never officially sold the Natura series outside Japan. I managed to score one from Dirk Rosler at Megaperls way back when. I looked at prices for it on eBay now and just about blew a gasket; I had no idea my camera was worth that much. It's too much fun for me to sell, though, and I'll shoot with it until it dies.Very cool, that's got to be a very rare (semi-)ultra wide angle compact, no?
EDIT: I suppose 24mm isn't really ultra-wide these days, but I still think of anything wider than 28mm as ultra-wide. I'm old-school.

Everyone should have a point and shoot loaded and at the ready. I had a very pleasant walk around a local working preserved historical garden today, accompanied by my 4 year old daughter and an Olympus Mju loaded with HP5+. No massive camera bag to carry and results that are beyond expectation for a point and squirt.

Agreed, I've always thought of anything significantly wider than 28mm as ultrawide. I'm excited to see some results.

I've got scans of my older stuff that I'll have to post in the gallery (or repost in some cases since I deleted a lot of shots from the gallery), but I definitely need to get some new shots to post. One more day of work and then I'm off until the new year, so I'll have a few days to play around. Which reminds me, I need a new film scanner too...Agreed, I've always thought of anything significantly wider than 28mm as ultrawide. I'm excited to see some results.

Ambitious, but rubbish

Very nice, I've been in a similar rut myself, using mainly my cell phone. I would love to go back to shooting film but I have a backlog of undeveloped rolls I need to take care of first.

I have a Rondinax to play with plus the developer and fixer I bought last year for the large format pinhole photography I never got around to doing once the pandemic hit. Might as well put them to use. I hope the chemicals aren't expired.

The Natura Black is still one of my favourite cameras, despite being 'only' a lifestyle point and shoot aimed at young Japanese women. Well, the blue and pink Natura S models were aimed at women, the Black version seems more unisex. I even shot my best friend's wedding with this (from the position of best man) alongside my Contax T3.

Nice work there. I really love the Hangzhou photo. This camera is something special with black-and-white film (and pretty darn good with color as well).

You're going to love shooting with the Natura Black again. I recently got mine a new battery and will take it with me on a trip in January, assuming I'm not flying.

I owned a Natura S for awhile. Absolutely fantastic camera. Wrote a review about it that anyone can read here.
