Hello all. I could not resist bidding on a Frank Rolfix I (Radionar 105mm f4.5), and got it for about $32 shipped (e-bay). Got it today. Came with the 6x6 frame!
Overall it looks ok for the price. Cleaned the outside surfaces of the len and there are some foggy spots somewhere that are not cleaning up (fungus)? These spots are in the central 60-70% of the lens. I am sitting the camera with lens up in the sun now for a while and see if it improves. Found some good instructions for disassembling the lens as a next step ( https://www.flickr.com/photos/29504544@N08/sets/72157626366996065/with/5616636483/ )
Shutter speeds seem good by eye- "B" sticks, but I will work it a bit. Lens and aperture turn freely. Bellows look good. Folds nicley, back opens- need to use nails to pry metal tabs a little (no spring loading).
One issue is the shutter release mechanism does not work. I can pull/push the button in and out, but it seems not to be connected. Any ideas on that? I can trip the shutter with a cable release, so that is my fall-back.
If I can get the lens reasonably clear, I will run some film through it.
