A friend wanted me to look up what Konica Hexar AFs have gone for recently on the 'Bay, so I looked up some past transactions. And I stumbled across something that made me briefly want to look for the the nearest jagged precipice:

Wait, is this a good price for the buyer or seller? I've never really kept an eye on the Hexars, but with this including the 21-35 I'm inclined to believe it was a steal...

I don't know. Do you have to actually LIVE on that site to find those gems? I never see the good stuff coming...just going past.

"A steal" doesn't begin to describe it...more like a wild-card fluke. Assuming it was legit, the seller clearly had no clue as to the combo's worth. Really no clue.

Let's put it this way: at the stated BIN price, I could've gotten the outfit, flipped the HRF body back on the 'Bay (I have two of 'em already), and essentially gotten the 21/35mm for free, or damned close.

Back to kicking thyself...

Another reason why I swore off ebay. The steals are too hard to handle.
 
Surely *bay is a curse and a blessing!

I'm watching an item listed there now
that is way more than I should spend,
but might be an irresistable bargain...

This one actually cost me money.
The prospect of a rare deal kept me up looking around *bay and I ended up with an impulse purchase of a bessa L with 15mm lens.
As a buy, it wasn't even in the same universe as this Hexar though.

Join the club. Been there; done that. Too many times!

I'm half hoping my eventual bid on the item doesn't win (and won't cost me).
This is what's known as *preemptive* buyer's remorse.

Is there an "*Bay Anonymous" type organization out there to help us? 😉

90+ minutes. I'm surprised it lasted that long.

I only hope that a photographer got it and is enjoying it. If a dealer got it, it'll be busted up and offered at more than double the price.
