I enjoy my V-Lux 1 immensely as long as I stay below 300mm and only venture into 200mm to 300mm territory when absolutely necessary. But I am not too keen on the IQ above base ISO, I would not mind a few mms more on the wide end, and it is effectively a stills camera only. The V-Lux 2 is out of the question since it does not have a zoom ring :bang:, and I can barely keep a 300mm steady anyway

A few days ago I compared the Leica to the Panasonic G2 in a shop while lusting after the GH2. I am not too keen on the body of either the G2 or the V-Lux 1 for that matter (too small grip for constant use and built-in incompatibility with my neck/shoulder), but once my newly ordered Cottoncarrier arrives I hope to have solved the carrying problem of all cameras once and for all

Hence the idea to upgrade to a GH2 (chosen for super fast AF instead of GH1 and G2) with a 14-140 for the same approximate reach as the V-Lux 1. I reckon the GH2 will not be inferior to the GH1/G2 for which long term usage opinions have formed.

So are they any RFF member who has made the switch from a V-Lux 1 or FZ50 and can comment on how they find the G-cameras?

Thanks in advance
