Not my thing, but it is considered a very good lens if you need it. I don't need that type of macro or a 120mm lens. I'm kind of comfortable in the 28-85mm range.

yeah, it's not my 'thing' either but if i had the extra cash it would be fun to play with...
i am falling for the new pancake zoom though...15-45 seems to cover my favourite focal lengths...i like the power zoom and it has 2 speeds so is easy to hit the right spot. and i like the cost...just a little bit quicker on the aperture side of things and it would be ideal...perfect if they kept it small.

If I expand my Fuji kit it will be on my short list.

I guess I meant I'd probably go for the 90mm F2 if I wanted something in this range.

Does your camera remember your last zoom setting when you power it off and then back on? or does it always default to 15mm?

Yeah, I get that...but it was designed to be included with Fuji's low end bodies, so they have to keep costs down. That is why the 18-55mm is so nice... the speed.

the 90 would be nice too...
'Does your camera remember your last zoom setting when you power it off and then back on? or does it always default to 15mm?'
defaults to the wide side...but going from one 15 to 45 or return is very quick.
i thought that i had read that the new software update for the xe3 and the 15-45 changed that but if it has i have not been able to find out how...not yet anyway...i only did it last night before bed.

Well yeah, the title of this thread says Fuji 80 Macro?
Which in Europe sells for 1299 euro. The Canon 100/2.8L, no slouch either goes for 899 euro.
I'm very interested in the 15-45 though. Looks like a great travel lens for me when combined with my xa-3.
