I was bidding on some Fortia recently, and someone wanted it a lot more than I evidently did! 😱
I've always wanted to try it as I have read that the colours are even more saturated than Velvia. Anyone here used it?

I used it around 2005/6. It was a good film for certain subjects, violet hour in the city was nice. I still have a propack in the freezer, might put it on ebay at some point if it's fetching good money.

It is nice in 120, never tried the 135 size though. All Fortia SP films are expired quite some time now so color-shift could be expected .

I bid on three autions on eBay Oz from one seller. Two 120 pro packs went for $365, two 135 pro packs went for $305 and one 135 opened pro pack with four remaining rolls went for $81! Never cold stored either. You'll make a killing.

Great exposures, maddoc. This is what I was going to use it for - I was hoping to try a roll or two with the wildflowers coming into season here, but I'll have to stick with Velvia.

HOLY COW! I must have about 10-12 rolls of 135 sitting here. Thanks for this thread. To ebay next week.

BTW: I didn't shoot much of it but didn't like it. Could have been the processing/exposure. Who knows but I much preferred Provia (in general) or Kodak if I wanted saturation. I just didn't like the colour signature of Fortia.

While I'm a huge, huge, fan of Provia 400X, when it comes to 100 speed film I'm an Astia nut. Got boxes and boxes of the stuff.
Happy you saw the thread...as your advisor my fee is 20%. 😀 Interested to see what it fetches!

Thank you for that. I cracked and ordered a roll. Most expensive expired film I've bought in my life, but life is too short not to burn the film you want!

If I remember correctly, the original batch was called Fuji Fortia and was released only in Japan in 2005. Fujifilm released an updated batch, again only in Japan, called Fuji Fortia SP in 2008. Both films were intended for photographing cherry blossoms so had very saturated blues. I shot a few rolls of Fortia SP in 135 and it was fun to try, but not a film I'd ever shoot much of.

Hah! I'll make you deal. If I have time, I'm going to try to get the rolls up next week. If I get $20/roll, on average, I'll mail you a roll of another film for every roll I sell. No joke.

This Fortia surely can fetch some serious coin. Was it some special film when it was still in production?

I was slowly buying my favourite slide film E100G (last batch, exp. 2014/04) this past year from a local Kodak distributor. I've got me some 100 rolls (in 120 format). I guess I only need to wait some 10 years and then make a fortune on it 🙂

But, I like this film too much to sell any of it. I'll shoot it all myself.

Seriously? That is why I like this forum! Still, I certainly won't hold you to it, but I am interested in seeing what they go for, especially as holgadirect has informed me they are out of stock.

The cherry blossoms are starting to flower here, going to get the Velvia out tomorrow.

Yet to try E100G in 120, or 135. I've only got two rolls of the stuff and two more of E100VS, been using the cheaper Elitechrome Extracolour when it comes to Kodak film.
