Does anyone have this kit for this GA645? If yes, how do you use it? I have just bought this interesting accessory for my GA645 but the instruction manual is in Japanese. I can assemble the bracket OK and get it all put together. However there is a page in Japanese how to focus and frame the camera with the kit on and I'd like some tips from users so that I can get started on the right foot.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have no directions, but I have seen the attachment used. I believe that you leave the focus at infinity and just use the focus frame to determine the proper distance for proper focus.
This may help a little.

Thank you. I guess I'll just find objects to put inside that frame and see how it goes. Looks like f/16 or smaller is going to be needed to get anything seriously in focus. Still, the results might be interesting.
I would have thought you set the focus at 0.7 meters instead of infinity.

You may want to PM Dante Stella directly as I believe he has used one in the past.

I have the directions somewhere; I'll try to dig them up. It's infinity. I believe the lens is a +2 or +3, which is why the camera would be set to infinity with the subject so close. In any event, you're probably best off stopping down unless you have a flat subject.
This by far is not Fuji's weirdest closeup attachment; the one for the GS645 folder is a separate focus-able viewfinder with an SLR-style focusing screen (with micrograms spot). Focus with the viewfinder, transfer the distance to the lens.

Ok thanks. If you could scan the English instructions that would be great. Mine are all in Japanese and it looks like one page of text is devoted to tips on how to use this accessory properly. I was going to take it out today and practice on some flowers but the weather turned bad and so never got out the door.

cool - i have had one of these for ages and never quite been able to work it out - I had set it on min focus too. Will give it a go now, and test it on a GA645zi and Ga645w too.
Is the meter accurate at this new close distance?

I would suggest a handheld incident at the subject - unless the area outside the wire frame has roughly the same reflectivity as within.

Not yet. Still trying to figure out where I filed it. Also been out of town a lot.
