Hello,
I seem to have the Fuji GF670 Battery Drain that I've read about online. If I put a fresh battery in my camera, leave it closed for a week or so, when I come back to use it, the battery is drained and the camera's shutter/meter do not work.
I was wondering if anyone has had this battery drain problem successfully fixed by Fuji or an independent repair person. Also, if anyone might know which part is causing this short circuit.
Thanks!

Hmmm I have not experienced this with my 670. I have had it for a little over a year now and have yet to change the battery. Do you leave it collapsed?

I had the same thing happen to mine and there was an issue with one of the contacts and I sent it back to Fuji and they fixed it under warranty.

j.scooter, it is a great portable medium format camera – I love it. This battery drain is a new thing that I've noticed over the past few months. Because it is a used camera I can't do the warranty route.
Goffer, the camera was collapsed when the battery drained. So I think there may be a short circuit.
I wonder how much this repair might be.

GaryLH, I'm going to live with this battery thing until mid-June because I would like to use my Fuji on a trip I'm going on. I'll be taking the battery out at the end of each day to stop any battery drain. But after the trip I'm sending it to Fuji Japan (Fuji Canada, where I live said it needs to go to Japan). I will update with my progress when I get it back!
