I just made a magnifier for my Fuji GW! It's pretty neat. I took a Nikon DK-17 M and an F3 eyepiece and glued the two together. Looks like hell, but it's functional.

I gutted the F3 eye piece (cost $10 dollars!) and then glued the two together. If I attempt this again, I would pop out the optics from the magnifier so that I could adhere the two together without worry.

1.2x magnification on the DK-17 M.

Wow, awesome. I wanted to use the DK-17M on my Ikon, but never thought of something this simple. I wanted to have the threading re-tapped.

LOoks like you can see about three meters and closer with ease. When at infinity you have to hunt for the framelines a bit. If you could get the optics closer to the eyepiece of the fuji I think you could see more.

As far as use goes, it's a breeze! Screws right in and out.

Can't you just use the megaperls 1.3X magnified on the Ikon?

Cheers,

If it works on the Ikon, it'll work on the GW/GSW iii. I didn't know about them before I started this project.

There was a 2x magnifier made for the Nikon f2/f3 cameras as well, which should work without any extra bits / pieces.

Megapearls is the same as the MS Optical magnifiers which are no longer being sold.
