Hey everybody, im thinking of snatching up a new Fuji Klasse S and was wondering if anyone who has one can fill me in on how fast/accurate the AF is? I know that its passive rather than active so yeah...how is it?
and how do you like/dislike the camera? Thanks!

I've owned a Klasse W and, to be honest, did not find the AF fast. If that is a key criterion of yours, I would try to test one before buying. It will be hard for someone to be able to say if the AF is fast enough for you since since it's all relative and depends on your needs and expectations.
AF aside, the W was a great camera. Lens was great, nice and sharp.

Alright, just got it in the post today
first impressions are very nice build quality, AF seems quick enough for what i use it for. Now if its as accurate as i'm hoping, i can sell off 2-3 other cameras
Set my custom functions already and excited to see how roll one turns out! Oh, and i really like the ergonomics/feel of the camera.

for that kind of stuff .. get a Hexar!

Plenty fast enough for me, but before that, I'd only ever had manual focus cameras. I don't really remember it being any slower than my D7000, although maybe that's my memory playing tricks.

Well, the test roll looks fine. AF in low light seemed to work like a champ so yeah...this may now (hopefully) become my everyday camera
if it keeps performing well. May take it to the bar tonight to make sure.
@k__43 don't get me wrong,i LOVE LOVE LOVE my hexar...as in, it may still be my absolute favorite 35mm cam that i own...but sometimes i want something a little more compact with a built in flash.

Well, after shooting it for a bit, i have had a handful of out of focus images, but nothing too out of the ordinary for a point and shoot (esp. since it's passive rather than active af). I notice that the little green circle blinks if it can't lock focus so i'm gonna keep a better eye open for that when i use it. Here's a couple random shots so far...

Ok...i take that back....the AF in low light seems to be a bit of a problem haha...i suppose its because its passive AF and its not able to lock on a detail and the infrared beam it shoots out can only go so far...i went to a get together recently and got a good chunk of blurry images,,,the ones that were close up were fine but many of the full length shots were out of focus....hmmmmm....
