Hi all,
I have a question about the Fuji M mount adapter. I have a some LTM lenses that I use with my Leicas as well as an M mount adapter I still have from when I had my M4.
I'm was planning the purchase of the Fuji 14mm 2.8 when it finally comes out, but the high price got me thinking.

For the same money I could purchase a Voigtlander 12mm LTM lens and the Fuji M-mount adapter. That way I can also use the 12mm on my old Leicas.

I see no reason why I couldn't convert the 12mm LTM with an M adapter to fit the Fuji M-mount adapter (so twice adapted) and then fit it to the X-Pro 1.

I would like to go that route - as compared to a direct LTM to X-Pro1 adapter - as I understand only the original Fuji M adapter with it's electronic connection will give me the ability to correct in camera for vignetting, distortion correction etc.

Is that correct? Or can I use those corrections with third party adapters as well?

Does anybody use the M-mount adapter with LTM lenses? Are there any pitfalls?

Thanks in advance!

I use an ltm 50 elmar and adapter with the Fuji-m adapter without issue. The one watch out is making sure your setup is compatible with Fuji's adapter since it has a smaller opening then the other ''dumb'' adapters available. The Fuji adaptor does come with a device to test this and there is also a list on their site. Having said that as good as all the Fuji glass has been I would strongly consider just getting the Fuji 14mm.

In in your same boat. I already have (and plan to use) a 21, 28, and 50 m mount or adapted m mount on my fuji. I would like a superwide, though, but don't if I want to invest in the 14 yet... The 15 that can be used on both my film body and the fuji sounds tempting...

I was considering the Fuji 14, too, but to be honest I think I'd rather go with the cv 15 f4.5. It's FAR smaller than the Fuji, can be used on an M film body (with viewfinder, of course), costs a lot less, and the 1.5ish stop loss vs the Fuji doesn't bother me that much on a wide. And neither does the lack of AF.

I use a vc 12/5.6 ltm on my xpro1 with 3rd party ltm - fx as well as 3rd party ltm-m to 3rd party m-fx adapters. And all is well. No vignetting or anything that I've noticed. But you will have to correct for distortion in post. To go without as much distortion, have you considered the vc 15/4.5? It's also much sharper in the corners then the 12mm. As much as I love the vc12, even on an apps-c the corners are total mud.

Thanks for this. Maybe I will look into the 15mm instead. Much nicer price as well...

Do you know if it would be possible to correct for the distortion in camera if the Fuji M-adapter was used?

I dont believe so. But maybe someone else here would know. I personally think its a waste of money. I guess Ive been really lucky with 3rd party adapters. Here is Fuji's official compatibility chart. Hope that helps.
