Last year there was a lot of buzz about the soon to be reissued reformulation of Fuji Velvia 50 Mk II. Has anyone seen this rumored film?

Last year Kodak trotted out reformulated Portra in a variey of flavors. Some of us got a few rolls for free from Kodak. Has anyone seen the new Portra in shops? Online?

Last but not least: Rollei Retro 100 film claims to be a substitute for Agfa APX100. True or false?

Inquiring minds want to know. What say ye?

Yeah - the norwegian market is very small, but the new portra can be had at a couple of pro labs/services I use occasoinally.

Don't know about Portra or Velvia but according to datasheets, Retro and APX have identical spectral response curves so the likelyhood is pretty big. You'll find more on this issue over at APUG, where many claim Retro is being cut from the last master rolls of APX.

I did a bit of looking. The official word from Fuji is that the new Velvia will begin shipping in the Summer of 2007. It might trickle down to Texas by Christmas.

Thanks! I think I'll ask Santa for a box.

I heard summer '07 for the 'new' old Velvia also- from the owner of a camera shop who'd been to one of the trade shows. This was back in March I think.

I stocked up when rumors of elimination surfaced- still have about 20 rolls in the freezer, guess I can pull that out next without fear of it being gone for good!
