hi, did someone try/using the leica lens on the X Pro 1??
if so, is the 35mm summarit fine for it since i got a used one with a pretty good price at my place. or should i consider the zeiss 35mm F/2 instead?

pls give some opinion.
thanks

I have tried Leica lenses on my X-Pro1. The further away the back element is from the sensor, the better the performance generally is. I can't remember what the back elements of these two lenses are like, but if they protrude past the mount in a significant manner, it generally does not give the best performance IMO.

I used a 21mm Elmarit via Kipon adapter on my X-Pro 1. For that particular setup, I used the EVF for framing, and shot hyper-focally. It worked great, but of course only ended up being about 30-32mm equivalent. I did notice it had a slight color cast, which I was curious why the auto WB didn't correct.

Here's a B&W conversion from the combo:

Super shot, David.

I actually love that 32mm-equivalent focal length. My CV 21mm was one of my favourite lenses on my R-D1 (have said goodbye to the Epson, but won't let go of the 21-D finder!). Haven't used it much on my X-Pro1, though, as corner performance is dubious. Have just actually acquired a Pentax K5 with the 21mm lens, and I'm liking the reunion with the focal length!

As for trying other lenses on the X-Pro1, I haven't regularly done so where native options exist (the 18/35/60 is a great trio). Tried the CV 15/21 - not so good. Might try the Leica 40 and Konica 90 this weekend, out of interest. The one MF lens that does make its way into the kit bag - a Konica 57mm f1.2.

try something cheaper first...i use a minolta md 58/1.4 on the fuji and it is pretty darn nice.
also tried a canon fd 100 but i think the lens itself is wonky...i have another minolta coming soon, a 135/2.8 and i'm hoping that will be as good as the 58.
