Has anybody tried printing @ 8X10 or larger from an X10 file? Are you satisfied with the results, say compared to an APS-C sensor image?

Yea, made one 8x10 from Jpeg fine and was satisfied for display at home. Caveat, I am not that fussy and do not have an APS-C sensor to compare it to. I was getting decent enough 8x10s from an Olympus C5050 years ago with a smaller sensor and half the mp count. I have not compared it to my D700 and don't intend to. So for me it works.

Bob,
Thanks for your input. My use is for home also. I have printed 8X10 (and 11X14) from my Oly 7070 (7 MP) with results that satisfy me. D80 and D200 do 11X14 w/o problem. I am looking at the compact, mirrorless offerings and the X10 may be what I am looking for.

I had a problem with my X10 and returned it, so I am just waiting till the store get some more in. My wife uses a Panasonic FZ50 with the same size sensor as in the Oly C5050 and you can get decent 11x17s out of that. Nobody has ever come into the house and run away screaming that those were terrible. I would anticipate no problem going to 11x17 with the x10 on that basis for home use. A lot depends on how you pp the files and having realistic expectations also helps. I think you and I are looking for a similar mirrorless solution and have similar expectation from it. Good luck choosing a model.

I have done 12x18" prints from the JPEGs (had to up res the files a bit. at the standard resolution they would print out around 13.3x8.9"). Did a writeup on Invisible Photographer that has some street photography images taken with the camera as well as a photo of a 12x18" print (can't really tell much about the quality though. . . :p ). I am happy with how the files translate into prints. The write up is at the following link:- http://invisiblephotographer.asia/2011/11/20/fuji-x10-takes-to-the-streets/

Then why would you think the Fuji wouldn't be able to do this? It's sensor is bigger and more modern.

Just asking about first hand results. I don't follow the digital offerings closely ( my digital gear is dated from 05-06) and a new model doesn't necessarily mean it's an improvement. My thoughts anyway.
