To all x100 owners:
Assuming that you DO NOT have an XP1- will you still purchase an X-e1?

No, I won't. I like the window finder way too much.
But then, the OM-D only has an EVF and I've thought about getting one of those, so who knows. I doubt it. I'm saving my pennies for a used M9 after Photokina.

Own both X100 and X-Pro1... would add this camera if I felt it offered me something the others don't, but cannot see myself trading either for it.

Nope. I love the X100's optical viewfinder and 23mm lens. I would have to give up both of those. If I really liked the lenses Fuji was producing, I would consider it. But I like the 23mm more.

Why? I've got an x100.

Probably not, unless the X-E1 offers something compelling over the X-Pro1 that I already own.

I love the X100.
And I have a two-year upgrade cycle from which I can't be diverted. In July 2014, I'm hoping to buy a full-frame version, from Fuji or Sony, for $1k.

I have an X-E1 on pre-order. I plan to carry it with the 60/2.4 lens along with my X100.

I'm considering the X-E1 as a small companion to my X-Pro1. I'm currently experimenting with a Voigtlander 25/4 on the X-Pro1. If I like the results, I may put that lens on the X-E1 and have something similar to the X100, but with 16mp.

I won't buy one for the same reason I didn't buy an X-Pro. For me, the lenses are too big and it's no longer very compact. Once you start adding a bunch of silly kit zooms on top of that...I'm really not interested anymore.
The X100, in my mind, is a few small steps from being the perfect camera. It looks like we won't get anymore steps out of it, since Fuji is sinking everything into their interchangeable lens models. I have thought for a while now (ever since the X-Pro announcement) that in a few years we may look back at the X100 as a cult-digital camera. One in a million. I really love that camera.

Maybe a good thing that they do not sink anything much into it? As you say it's only a few steps away from perfect. A X100 mkII could take all of those from the more recent models in the X line (sensor, the focus mode switch, a few firmware tweaks, a solution to manual focus irritations...) leving the lens and form factor unchanged. I reckon that would be perfect.

I am waiting for the 56/1.4. Then I will get the X-E1 and use the pair I did my Olympus XA and Nikon F3 with 105/2.5

This sounds like a great plan. Except I would wait for the 56/1.4 as it probably will have the faster AF motor. Of course I am not a macro phtographer.

No. All about the viewfinder and the slightly off retro design. If I wanted an EVF and high res I would have got the Nex 7.

As above, I don't like the present standard of EVF, plus the design is a beat.

My most used lens with my Hasselblad is the Makro Planar 120/4. It's long enough for portraits and I often use the macro range. The Fuji 60/2.4 sounds like a good equivalent in the digital universe. This sounds like a great plan. Except I would wait for the 56/1.4 as it probably will have the faster AF motor. Nope!
Happy with X100 and X PRO 1. They do everything I need.
