Fun article on gold cameras

Back in the 80s, it seemed like everyone was making gold commemorative cameras. There was the Gold Nikon someone posted a link to a few days ago here on RFF. Pentax made a Gold LX. There were several gold Leicas, including an R3 SLR.

My favorite, and one that comes up for sale fairly often, is the Gold Sekonic L-398 light meter. They go for about $300, and if I had the extra $$$ to blow, I'd buy one!

While I’m not a gold camera fan, I have to disagree that owning something that you can’t/won’t use is absurd. You can use photos, yet here we are creating and owning them. The guitar, like the gold camera, is art, it doesn’t need to be used to be appreciated.
