FYI. Fuji patent on a 18-250 zoom

Anyway someone just spotted this patent.... Probably going to be a lens one day.

Not sure I like the idea of Fuji moving in this direction. A 18-250 do everything type zoom lens. But I guess w/ the xt1, they are putting more into lenses that the average dslr users are used to seeing in the lineup.

an 18-250 is honestly quite amazing even for an APS-C camera. That's 27-375 by FF length...the only question is where the F3.5 stops happening.

If it is anything like DSLR super zooms it'll have lost a stop somewhere around 50-60mm.

This is for the Nikon 18-300mm (http://www.bythom.com/Nikkor18-300lensreview.htm):

18mm = f/3.5
28mm = f/4
50mm = f/5.3
105mm+ = f/5.6
 
Such a pointless lens.

Either way, they have already given us a solid lineup of amazing primes - barring a 135 equiv there's not much else we could ask for!
