Thanks for the post, Gary. They are pretty, but a little too euro-smooth-roundy looking for my taste, especially on my blocky, traditional X-Pro body. I can't imagine the 32 will offer anything over the Fuji 35, but will wait to see tests and images of the 12 vs the Fuji 14 before making that decision. Now if Fuji can just get the 56 to market, I'll be a happy camper.

Tend to agree.. Personally, I will stay w/ the Fuji lineup, even if it turns out the Zeiss maybe better in resolution. Overall, the Fuji's are good enough for me.. The only reason for me to buy a third party would be for a lens focal length that Fuji does not have or better af/mf experience in a focal length I use a lot like a 27 (40 fov is my most used 35mm lens followed by the 21).

Hard to judge size from those photos, but the 12 w/o hood does look smaller than I would have expected. I saw the 14 while I was in NYC and was really impressed (but held off). The Zeiss 12 has aperture but no DOF markings, nor the cool auto/manual toggle that the Fuji has. Looks to me like the Fuji might win eventually for me based on use pleasure, all other things being equal. (plus 21 efov is more useful for me).
OT: I am thinking about going down Joe's route and mostly ditching my RF system altogether. Hmmm.

Not what I expected from Zeiss... Somebody hired a designer...
Can't imagine the 12 being better than the 14...just wider. Ditto with the 32 vs 35...

I have to agree. I don't feel the Fuji 35mm is lacking in any way. Not sure why I'd bother with a Zeiss version. In M mount, the Zeiss stuff makes sense as a cheaper alternative. Fuji has upped the ante regarding quality at a certain price point. More so than Voigtlander even IMO.

I must be one of the very few who is excited about the 50mm macro...
