I just came back from my local camera shop where I purchased a Minolta 50mm MC f1.4 f1.7 Hood for a Minolta SRT 100. It is a fairly shallow hood much smaller than the plunger type. Out of curiosity I tried it on a Yashica GSN. It fit perfectly and was even less intrusive than the Hama 55mm hood. I have not tried it with film but since the two lenses are only 5mm apart it appears that it might not vignette. I know people have been looking for hoods for older cameras and I thought that I would post this info.

I don't have a GSN, but I think this is a great idea. I am looking for hoods for Electro GL & GX, and wondering if this would fit it or not. I read over at Karen Nakamura's site that the hood for Oly's 1.2/55 would fit nicely, unfortunately the price is more expensive than the original Yashica's. Any other alternatives?
