Well just been playing arround with my G1, one minor gripe is the lack of f stop info in the viewfinder, it would be nice to have the f stop value in the corner of the yellow info screen. But thats my only gripe so far and I realise that no camera is perfect

There should be for that a mechanical transmission of the diaphragme
it would also permit to have a real AElock wch mean that you could keep the AE lock even when changing the aperture like on the contax reflex

Another feature that would be easy to implement with electronic camera would be automatic Hyper-focal distance setting for set focusing distance and aperture. How about that? I shoot alot of scenics.

I re read the manual, the camera has a small external meter so as to guess the value of the aperture, so as to write it on the film with the databack
maybe it is also use to prevent shift focus like for the hexar AF, but it is not written in the manual
