Just interested to see where and for what people are picking up their kits for, a nice point of reference for anyone looking maybe.

I have not bought mine yet but have seen prices here in China as low as 5400 Yuan for grey market (no warranty) which is $790 USD. For non grey market with two year warranty the normal price seems to be about 6000 Yuan ($878 USD). Both of those are for the 14-45mm kit, have not seen any twin lens kits here yet.

I'm planning to wait for the Olympus version, but pricing for Amazon US is significantly cheaper ($668) with the 14-45 zoom. In addition, there are other incentives here that might reduce the price anywhere from 10 to 30% less.

That's a great price, Joe.

The sort that would tip the scales for me. Otherwise, the cheapest I could get it would be well over $700 PLUS... The ebay sellers with lower priced auctions ship by UPS that immediately adds $100 for shipping plus automatic import duties. Amazon doesn't ship that item here yet, etc., etc., :bang:

$600 from ProDigital2000 in Canada. They're a little rough around the edges, but I get my Pentax stuff from them CHEAP. (I'm expecting the 43mm Limited tomorrow in fact.)

I don't have a G1 by the way, I just checked eBay to see what their price was. Shipping is free.

i bought my panasonic 45-200 from prodigital, they have them in stock and at a good price.
check out their auction prices, on the g1 kit, some as low as 450 i believe.

Those pro digital prices are appealing.
I just bought a Zeiss 25/2.8, sort of in anticipation of getting one of these G1s.

Prodigital2000.... more selling $500 to $550>>>

I have been literally viewing the Prodigital listings daily. More selling between $500 to $550 than above that. Interestingly, their $599 Buy It Nows even close fast. Why do people do that?

This month for me... I have seen at least 4 completed Prodigital2000 sales for under $500. International warranty per their listings. Many good comments from various sources.

I bought mine for $668 from B&H Photo.

The black and the blue G1s were $699 - the red was about $30 cheaper, so that's what I bought.

Well, the retail price for the single lens kit here is Aus is 1499 AUD ($1067 USD) - and yet, we are still known as the lucky country :)

Probably because the BIN is already less that than the typical resellers, and the buyers don't do any completed auction research.

There's also something to be said about getting something when you want it, instead of waiting for the price to be just right. I have to admit to being afflicted with that feeling from time to time.

I'm planning to attend a Panasonic media briefing tomorrow at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas. I'm hoping they'll talk about the G1 line of cameras. But even if they do, there may be nothing more than what we already know about them.
