How many single exposures would a camera have made if the counter reads 1500?
Is the counter at the bottom of the camera?
And what would be considered a high exposure count for a camera like this?

Jimbo, welcome to RFF... The GA645Zi is different in a number of respects from the previous GA645 non-zoom, so it's possible its Total Shots Indicator reads differently. But for the GA645 and GA645W, here's how it works:
Hold down the Exposure Compensation Button (the one labled +/-) and turn the Selecting Dial from OFF to ISO. The LCD panel will show the total shots in units of 100. It shows 5 digits; three and then a space and two that are always 00. If the display shows 015 00 then that indicates a total of 1500 shots.
